Lil One

It started when two became one;
Your life at that point had just begun.
I felt you, so I knew you were there;
A bond that only you and I could share.
From the minute I heard your first lil cries,
A light for you shined in my eyes.
A glint that is there for you alone
For all you have given me; for all you have shown.
For one brief moment you were only mine,
But now for the world your light will shine.
I watch you grow before me each day
And hope to teach you the path, the way
To help you become what you dream to be,
In my eyes you'll remain my lil baby.
