Each Day

Each day I strive to learn something more
Than what I knew the day before.
Each day I look beyond what is only seen outside
To who people truely are - their beauty deep inside.
Each day I try not change what's inside
Of someone unless they want to abide.
Each day I learn that we are not all the same,
So if we turn our cheek, we only have ourselves to blame.
Each day a hand I extend to help out
A friend in need who in themselves has doubt.
Each day I seek to find someone who is down,
So that I may pick them up and illiminate their frown.
Each day I give a smile because I get one back,
And sometimes what we give is something that we lack.
Each day I long to focus on what I have been given
Rather than to think I need more to make my  life worth living.
Each day I reach for the stars that I may never get to hold,
But I know I tried to acheive obtaining my pot of gold.
Each day I hope to value what other's have to show
For I alone don't hold all the answers that I need to know.
Each day I put my heart out there so others may look and see
That I truely care for them, and hold their friendship dear to me.
