A friendship we make here and now-
        A promise to be there, an unbroken vow.
         When others walk away and fail to care,
        A true friend will always be there.
                They break down your walls and open your heart,
                 And a friendship from here does blossom and start.
               You'll feel them hold you close when life isn't fair.
                   You can cry on their shoulder; they'll always be there.
              Friends don't judge you or mean to cause you pain.
              They bring sunshine and love to drown out the rain.
They teach us lessons; their souls they bare
And let you know they'll always be there.
Some enter your life and leave just as fast,
But the gift they give you will forever last.
            They touch you; they move you; they accept the dare
            The challenge to show you they'll always be there.
             Though we choose paths that lead us separate ways
        And the hours we spend apart turn into days,
                 We know the special bond that we have that we share
         Is a union for us that will always be there.
